Medjumba Island - Location and facilitiesLocated on the remote Medjumbe Island - one of the many islands making up the Quirimbas Archipelago in Northern Mozambique - Medjumbe Island Resort is unspoiled and unexplored, the ideal Mozambique island getaway for those who wish to experience exclusivity and privacy on a remote tropical island. Situated on a tiny Island in the Quirimbas Archipelago, Medjumbe Resort was designed to a have minimal impact on the Island and its eco system.

Accommodation & Rates


Medjumba Island - AccomodationThe Medjumbe Resort accommodation consists of a total of 13 thatched chalets with en-suite bathrooms fitted with indoor shower and separate bath as well as a private outdoor shower. The chalets were designed to blend in with the surroundings, are beautifully furnished and equipped with air conditioning, outdoor hammock, ceiling fans, hair dryer, mini bar, personal electronic safe, satellite TV, are all fully mosquito screened and have the convenience of tea/coffee making facilities.

Rates

Rates are dependant on season and subject to change without notice.

Rates in US$ Per Person /Per Night
Low season = beach chalets from $515 p/p sharing and $773 single
Peak season  = beach chalets from $600 p/p sharing and $900 single

What is included

Accommodation, all meals, soft drinks, house wines, local brand spirits and beer, bottled water, tea/coffee, laundry, non-motorised watersport activities/equipment and Marine Reserve Fees .

What is not included
International / domestic flights, Island transfers from Pemba Airport to the resort (USD 180 per person return), arrival and departure taxes, visas, beverages not specified above, mini bar, motorized activities/equipment, gratuities, Travel insurance and all items not mentioned above.

Inter Island Transfers :        USD 90 per person one way, Medjumbe to Matemo or vica versa

Children

  • The resort does not accept children under 12 years of age.
  • Maximum  2 adults per chalet
  • Children aged 12yrs and over pay full adult rates, accommodated in own beach chalet
  • Children aged 12 yrs and over pay full adult rate for the island transfer

Activities


Medjumba Island - ActivitiesWatersports – water-skiing and tubing.

Snorkelling - The waters off Medjumbe Island are of such a superb standard that you need not be a scuba diver to enjoy the amazing diversity of the marine riches. There are a number of excellent sites where snorkellers will be able to appreciate the stunning tropical reefs, whales, dolphins, marine turtles and other exotic marine life.

Whale watching & dolphin spotting - Whale watching in the passage or outer areas occurs during August to November. Dolphin spotting takes place throughout the year, normally combined with a snorkelling excursion.

Beach games
-Volleyball, beach tennis, badminton and kiddies sand building castles are available from the Activities Centre.

Swimming pool
- Enjoy and relax next to the pool at ‘Bahari Bar’.

Fishing - Around the Quirimbas, deep water is accessed close to the islands, which means one doesn't have to travel far for thrilling encounters with big game fish. Still little explored, the protected waters around Medjumbe produce some of the most exciting game fish to catch - species such as Kingfish, Barracuda, Dorado, Queenfish, Serra, Wahoo, Yellowfin Tuna and Sailfish.
