Neptune Warrior is a palace afloat, opening up the treasures of the unexplored Indian Ocean islands to the world’s most discerning fisherman.

A spacious 24 metre, 10 berth motorised catamaran, Neptune Warrior plies the waters of Seychelles’ southern islands archipelago revealing the magical coral atolls of Providence, Fahquar, Cosmoledo and a myriad others, and the teeming fishing grounds that surround them.

The perfect marriage of luxury and practicality, Neptune Warrior is a floating palace, an isolated oasis of luxury, capable of cruising the open oceans around Seychelles’ southern islands in search of the ultimate fishing adventure.

The spacious luxury of Neptune Warrior comfortably accommodates groups of up to 10 in five luxuriously appointed cabins.
A home from home for families escaping the real world for an ocean adventure, or the world’s most luxurious fishing lodge for a party of dedicated anglers keen to pit their skills against some of the Indian Ocean’s prize trophy catches.

With a draft of only 1.3 metres the Neptune Warrior can easily cruise inside the pristine lagoons of Seychelles’ outer island coral atolls, sliding across the calm, crystal-clear waters to bring you face to face with Seychelles’ teeming marine life.

But with a beam of 10 metres, the Neptune Warrior is equally adept at make the open ocean inter-island crossing to allow you to explore the differences of the beautiful mid-ocean coral jewels.

Built in Southampton in 1989, Neptune Warrior spent 12 months (early 2008- early 2009) undergoing a comprehensive refit, bringing the accommodation levels up to that of a floating five star hotel, at the same time ensuring that the ship’s technical specifications could provide continuous faultless service 500 miles from the nearest dry dock. Powered by Deutz Engines, makers of some of the world’s most reliable marine engines, the Neptune Warrior cruises at 8 knots for the inter-island crossings.

Activities

For the Family
Seychelles’ southern atolls, each one barely breaking the surface of the warm azure waters of the western Indian Ocean, are the perfect playground for all young (and not so young) Robinson Crusoes. Fringed by coral reefs, where vibrantly coloured fish dart between giant coral heads and lounging turtles wait to be discovered, the beaches that skirt the outer islands are a world away from the crowded tourist beaches of other destinations. Mile after mile of powder soft, silver sands, stretching, unbroken by sun loungers or beach kiosks, mean that your only difficulty is choosing just which one to relax on next. And while parents take a well earned rest on the beach, the islands’ forests, abandoned settlements, crumbling grave yards and unique wildlife provide a vast open air playground for the younger members of the family.

Nature
Environmental protection in Seychelles has been given the highest possible priority and today over 50% of the country’s landmass enjoys a range of protected status. And remote from the main centres of habitation and commercial development, the country’s outer islands have benefited even more, remaining almost unchanged for millennia. A paradise for visiting biologists, the living laboratories of Seychelles’ remote coral atolls are home to species which have evolved in isolation from the outside world for countless generations. Protected from the pernicious influence of human interference for so long, the islands have become the breeding site of choice for many species of ocean going birds which travel thousands of miles across the seas, before journeying back to the islands to nest and raise the next generation of ocean wanderers. Safe from the ravages of commercial fishing, the islands’ reefs teem with life, a treat for divers and snorkellers who take the plunge overboard to venture into a world of rainbow coloured reef fish, curious turtles and small sharks, patrolling the reef edge.

After dark
The diamond studded black velvet of the night sky melts into the ink black sea, where the bows of Neptune Warrior softly break the waters and spark an under water phosphorescent fireworks display. A thousand miles from the nearest source of light pollution, the night sky unfolds above you, revealing the eternal majesty of the southern sky.

From the adrenaline rush of blue water, big game hunting, to the finger-tip skill of the subtle fly-fisherman, Seychelles’ outer-island atolls offer angling challenges for every taste. And whether they are guiding an enthusiastic novice through their first taste of reef fishing or admiring the technique of an experienced fisherman taking on a fresh challenge, the professional crew of Neptune Warrior are on hand to offer advice, assistance and applause for the catch of the day.

Motor away from the reef fringed atolls and out into the open sea to hunt record breaking marlin, sail fish, wahoo, yellow-fin tuna and many more aboard Neptune Warrior or one of the ship’s two high speed customised tenders.

Rapidly gaining in popularity around the world, the fast action of Jigging is ideally suited to hooking snappers, groupers and a wide range of reef fish. The biggest challenge – and biggest fish – wait on the reef drop off, where sea floor drops from the shallow coastal fringe straight down for 1,000 metres.

Popping

Hand-line
This traditional local technique is often an untried thrill for visiting anglers. Line fishing at its most raw, hand-line fishing – bottom fishing without a float or rod and with the line loosely gripped in one hand – relies on the speed of reaction of the angler and the crystal clear waters of Seychelles. An ageless technique, hand-line fishing feeds the people of Seychelles and provides a unique challenge for even the most experienced fishermen from around the world.
