Accommodation & Rates

The Matemo Resort offers a total of 24 thatched chalets with en-suite bathrooms fitted with indoor shower and separate bath as well as a private outdoor shower.

Rates are  dependant on season and subject to change without notice.

Rates in US$ Per Person /Per Night Bed & Breakfast
Low season = beach chalets from $460  p/p sharing and $690 single
Peak season  = beach chalets from $525 p/p sharing and $788 single

What is included
Accommodation, all meals, soft drinks, house branded wine, beer and spirits, bottled water/tea /coffee in room, non-motorised watersport activities/equipment, National Park Entrance fee and Emergency Medical Evacuation.

What is not included
International/domestic flights, Arrival / Departure taxes, Visas, Island transfer from Pemba Airport to the resort (currently USD180 per person return, beverages not specified above, mini bar, motorized activities, spa treatments, gratuity, laundry and items not mentioned above.

USD90 per person one way, Matemo to Medjumbe or vice versa

Child Policy

• Only 01 child 12yrs & under allowed to share with two full paying adults in a beach chalet, child on mattress on floor
• Children 3yrs and under stay free of charge when sharing with two full paying adults in a beach chalet
• Children 3yrs and under eat free of charge
• child 04 to 12 years sharing with two full paying adults in beach chalet will pay 50% of adult per person sharing rate
• children 4 – 18 yrs sharing own standard beach chalet, will pay 75% of adult per person sharing rate
• child in own single standard beach chalet, will pay 75% of adult single rate
• Children 3yrs & under on lap, pay 50% of island transfer.  Children 4yrs and over pay full island transfer rate

Activities

Experience breathtaking snorkeling, scuba diving, a variety of beach games, deep sea fishing and sunset cruises. You can even take a “Water Taxi” to Ibo Island for a cultural experience. The ultimate in undiscovered Mozambique island adventure.

Fishing at Matemo can be enjoyed either by boat or from the beach. Our fishing boats include a 31ft Gulfcraft. All fishing tackle is provided on the fishing trips. Rods and reels are all of the highest quality.

The game fishing in the waters surrounding Matemo Island is nothing short of spectacular. Game fish species found include Kingfish, Barracuda, Dorado, Queenfish, Serra, Wahoo, Yellowfin Tuna and Sailfish.

All billfish are strictly catch-and-release. Fishing by boat is conducted either as a half day (4 hours) of full day (8 hours) excursion. Both excursions include fuel, skipper, tackle, bait and a limited amount of cool drinks. Alcoholic beverages are available but will be charged on consumption at bar prices.

Other Activities at Matemo Island Resort
Enjoy a sunset cruise, embark on a cultural tour to nearby, historical Ibo Island (20 minutes by boat), or enjoy a scenic hike through the baobabs and palm groves on the island.

International flights go direct to  Pemba.  Transfers are then available from Pemba to the Island
