It is only a week since we disembarked from the Atmosphere and said goodbye after our amazing time in Patagonia. Although the strain of too many late nights, early mornings and overindulgences are still coursing through my veins, the details and memories of a time I imagined I would never forget, are already starting to fade into a delightful dream. The return home and reality of routine, make it seem almost unbelievable!

Was I really flying like a Condor, over forests and mountains, amongst glaciers and volcanoes??

Did I really meet a whole group of strangers that I shared some of my most intimate life experiences with?

Were those beautiful rainbow trout that danced in bubbling champagne coloured rivers really on the end of my fly line?

Mike and I went on to Vina Del Mar after we left you, and spent 3 days there, enjoying another side of Chile. We continued to eat and drink and take in the warmth and charm of the Chilean pacific and its people. We met up with our daughters who were having the same wonderful hospitality from their hosts and have continued to have, the whole week (they are in Peurto Varas today, and are overwhelmed by its beauty and the kindness of the people looking after them.)

We visited Valparaiso which was as colourful as is described in all the tourist guides, and drove up the coast as far as the beautiful seaside resort of Zapellar.

We got lost in Santiago with no time to spare,en route to the airport (tested those 20 happy years!) and then overnighted in Beunos Aires (in a dump!!) on our way home to Johannesburg.

I have downloaded my photos which don't do much justice to the time had or the places seen,but they are my proof that it wasnt an illusion and that there are friends made, somewhere out there, that shared that magic time with me.
